Redis Cloud’s proxy simplifies client-side shard routing. Your team still initiates scaling. That routing model can suit an existing Redis application whose team wants the service to handle shard routing and is prepared to make capacity decisions.
Compare recovery and availability commitments
Aiven’s nonclustered Startup plan is single-node. If that node fails, recovery requires restoring a replacement from backup, with downtime and loss of writes since the backup. Business and Premium provide standbys and automatic failover. Choose one of those plans when your application cannot accept Startup’s recovery path.
Redis Cloud’s uptime SLA depends on topology. Qualifying Multi-AZ deployments receive 99.99%, and Active-Active receives 99.999%. The Active-Active commitment measures failure across all databases in the deployment.
